Hi,
I recently purchased a Kindle 4.1.1 which I hope to turn into an e-ink display following these instructions - http://www.ponnuki.net/2012/09/kindleberry-pi/
Step 1 is to jailbreak the Kindle, and I have been following these instructions for that - http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kind...king#Jailbreak
In summary:
I can't get past step 4. The tequila UI just reboots to itself (and only when I hit the left arrow on the directional pad, I might add, selecting "Q) To continue" does nothing. I can't load the Kindle OS at all.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Step 1 is to jailbreak the Kindle, and I have been following these instructions for that - http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kind...king#Jailbreak
In summary:
- Plug in the Kindle and copy data.tar.gz and ENABLE_DIAGS to the Kindle's USB drive's root
- Safely remove the USB cable and restart the Kindle (Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> Restart)
- Once the device restarts into diagnostics mode, select "D) Exit, Reboot or Disable Diags" (using the 5-way keypad)
- Select "R) Reboot System" and "Q) To continue"
- Wait about 20 seconds: you should see the Jailbreak screen for a while, and the device should then restart normally
- After the Kindle restarts, you should see a new book titled "You are Jailbroken", if you see this, the jailbreak has been successful.
I can't get past step 4. The tequila UI just reboots to itself (and only when I hit the left arrow on the directional pad, I might add, selecting "Q) To continue" does nothing. I can't load the Kindle OS at all.
