Hi all, I'm having a strange issue jailbreaking my Kindle.
It's a PaperWhite WiFi 'PW' or 'KPW1', with serial number starting with B024. Initially I downgraded the firmware from v5.6.1 to v5.3.3 and then today upgraded it to v5.4.4 before applying the K5 JailBreak (5.0.x - 5.4.4.2) file kindle-jailbreak-1.16.N-r18869.tar.xz.
The **** JAILBREAK **** text is then present at the bottom of the Settings page. Great!
However, once I reconnect the USB cable to apply the hotfix, the JAILBREAK text disappears. Is the jailbreak still present if the text is missing? I've not seen this mentioned on the forum.
I tried the jailbreak in Airplane mode as well as Wifi On with the same outcome.
Thank you!
