K3 EINK Panel ID: ????_???_??_???

My Kindle Keyboard 3G is not displaying grayscale due to a Waveform mismatch.
I am NOT using a replacement screen.

The diagnostics mode shows my issue:

Panel ID: ????_???_??_???
Waveform ID: V110_000_60_M01

Why isn't my Panel ID being read properly? What can I do to fix this?
