Hi,
long story short, quote Jeff Bezos:
So they use IR-Touch in some (<--EDIT ) of their devices and that gives us the possibility for a cheap Touch-Pen.
I guess the pics are self explaining.
For example, I use it a lot for typing ....its a lot more precise than it looks like.
- No damage will be done. (I tried a couple of other things i wasn't really
comfortable with using on the screen)
- You are cleaning your screen. XD
- Tips are cheap and easy to replace.

EDIT: as knc1 pointed out not all of them are IR-Touch!
Thanks.

"The current technology for touch screens -- it's called capacitive touch -- is a layer that goes on top of that display. It adds glare," Bezos said in an interview last year on the "Charlie Rose" TV talk show. "We want a device that's uncompromised for reading." |

Only the KT, KT2 and KT3 use IR scanning touch screens. All of the other models (the front lighted ones) are capacitive touch screens. |
