K3 Registering a Kindle 3

Does anyone know what event is triggered when someone clicks the button to register their kindle K3? Is there a script located on the kindle somewhere that inserts the email address you use as a variable and sends it to a kindle register server to validate the amazon email account?

I've done my fair share of traversing the kindles directories looking for a register script with no luck.
